Welcome

I am the mother of two beautiful little boys from Guatemala. I feel that it is important to "Pay It Forward". We don't have a lot of extra money, but I feel that each dollar matters. I know there are many others that have been touched by Guatemala that may be in the same position. In this spirit, I am coordinating an effort to sponsor students through Mayan Families. Many of us do not have $150-$450 to give at this time, but if we had 125 families give $10 each we could raise $1250 for sponsorship. I will be donating whatever amount is collected (minus any paypal fees) and request that it goes towards student sponsorship. I hope to raise enough that we can actually fully sponsor several students. I will be posting updates about our progress. I am also looking into different hosting options for this site so stay tuned.

I am not a non-profit and if you would like to get a receipt for your donation (for tax purposes) then you will need to donate directly to Mayan Families. Please write in the comment space that this is for the Adoptive Families Giving Back to Guatemala campaign. Sharon is aggregating our funds for student sponsorship. I am also happy to collect checks written to Mayan Families and send them as one big donation (so we can add them together to sponsor indivdiual students).
